Yum! Made this tonight with some changes I took from other reviews. I put two slices of bread on the bottom of the pan to soak up the grease (worked great!). I used 1 cup of breadcrumbs and 1/4 cup of flax seed instead of 3 slices of bread. I also sautéed the onions a little before adding into the mixture. I will definitely be making this again, but only giving it 4 stars.. Tasted a little bland, so I'll definitely add some cayenne pepper to spice it up a bit next time! Thanks for the recipe!

First time I made it, and the only thing I added was a can of drain sliced mushrooms and left out the salt, and it turned out great. Cooked this in my NuWave oven, made two small loafs, first one was gone and we have a second for tomorrow's dinner. This is a keeper!

This was an easy and yummy recipe. The only thing I did different was use onion salt instead of the onion to make it more kid-friendly! Definitely will be making this again :)

Most of the free' books you'd find online are just paplemhts with just a few recipes in them. You can find TONS of free diabetic recipes online just by typing diabetic recipes into the search box. Many bookstores also sell cookbooks specifically geared towards diabetic cooking. Good luck to you!

Great recipe. I used the bread and barbecue sauce. I actually didn't read the recipe well and mixed the 1/2 C of barbecue sauce in with the meat and then also topped it with a little more sauce. It made for a wonderfully moist meatloaf. The family loved it.

Very tasty! I used Ground turkey and bread crumbs instead. Didn't have onion so I added onion powder and used BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. Great recipe to adjust to satisfy most taste buds!

I just tried this recipe today. I cooked it for my family and in-laws. I used the 1/4 teaspoon dried sage leaves, and the 3/4 cup Quick cooking Oats. I finely chopped the onions in a food processor so my kids couldn't see them and I used Soy Milk instead of milk due to food allergies. I also read some of the reviews and then decided to add 1/2 Tablespoon of Chilli powder and 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce to the mixture. I also took another reviewer's suggestion and added Bread slices to the bottom of the loaf pan so that the hamburger grease was soaked up during baking. I omitted the sauce from the top of the loaf due to the fact that some family members preferred Ketchup over BBQ sauce. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to cook using a 9 X 5 loaf Pan. Everyone LOVED it! It was a very big hit. It was packed with a ton of flavor, it was moist (not soggy), and everyone was able to add there choice of sauce on it. I paired it with Green bean Casserole and rolls. I was told that the casserole was a nice compliment to the meatloaf and that I was an amazing cook. The great part was that I am so not a cook and this was my first time cooking meatloaf. I highly recommend this recipe. It was quick, easy, and fun. Thanks you Betty and to the other reviewer's for all your great suggestions!

I received a Betty Crocker cook book as a wedding gift over 25 yrs ago and this is the Meat Loaf recipe in it. I tried only because it was so different than my Mom's. (I never cared for hers she used oatmeal instead of bread crumbs and tomato sauce in it. Anyway we loved it! Now 5 kids later this is one of the most requested dinners. They say the best part is the leftovers for sandwiches. I follow the recipe using bread crumbs and chili sauce. Sometimes I add about 1/4 cup chopped green pepper.
