I had to come onto this site, after plugging in "Bisquick" into my browser just to get the ratio of milk to mix for my "drop biscuits" or "dumplings". My mom's been making Chicken & Dumpling" stew for 50 years now. The "Dumpling" recipe is no longer on the box. :( But, I'm glad I did come to this site as it has many other recipes I will try in the future.
As for this one, the only thing I can say is, Make your own chicken soup/stew, the way you like it. Bring it to a boil, drop the dumplings, tbls at a time, drop the heat to simmer, uncovered 10 mins, cover and simmer 10 min more, and wallah!, the best dumplings and soup/stew ever!!!! I use whole chicken, chicken thighs, whatever I have in the freezer. I normally always use fresh chopped potatoes and carrots and whole onion. Seasonings are salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, a bay leaf or two, garlic powder. Again, season it the way you like it. I boil my chicken in water, (less sodium)with all the seasonings, just before chicken is done, I add my veggies, simmer another 15 minutes, then drop my dumplings. Probably, 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hour altogether. Bon Appetite (sp?) lol
