My family loves this recipe! It's easy to make with very little mess which makes it one of my favorites too.... I add 1 lb ground beef to it. Just brown the ground beef and then add the sausage, etc... Yum...Yum...

The dish is good when it is hot, but then starts to get a little soggy. I think that there is just a little bit too much tomato in the recipe. Prehaps use a little less stewed tomatoes.

It was good the first night, but turned into a loaf overnight. i would cut the topping recipe in half and do in a 9x9, or double the sausage chili and keep in the 13x9. Personal preference, more hot pepper in the chili, and slightly more corn meal in the topping.
