These sausage balls were great. I made two batches. They freeze great. I made them gluten free for my husband, but the rest of the family kept eating them. No one knew they were gluten free except for my husband. Thank you Bisquick for a great gluten free product and recipe.

I am not gluten-free but a family member is so I had to be sensitive with cooking this holiday. I have never tried a version with regular Bisquick but these were delish and everyone LOVED them. I used a roll(one pound) of Zesty hot breakfast sausage, one cup of GF Bisquick, a half cup of finely minced green onion, a block (8 oz) of extra sharp orange cheddar shredded and 1/2 cup milk. I would definitely up the meat from 4 oz to a pound. Mine turned out perfect in the ratios I listed.

I made these for a friend for xmas that is gluten free. I used Italian sausage for more flavor and left out the cayenne pepper upon request. I sent her home with the recipe and another I found with it and the rest of the box of Gluten Free Bisquick.

I am new to this whole gluten free thing due to my recent diagnosis. I was very worried about what I wasn't going to be able to eat and cook any more. I was hesitant when I saw this recipe, thinking it would be nasty. But...not so much! Even my husband, who didn't want to have to go gluten free enjoyed it. I would totally make them again.

If you have a free standing mixer, use the dough hook to mix the ingredients; otherwise, I used to put all the ingredients in a large ziplock bag and knead with my hands. Mine got a little brown on the panside, so I turn them over after 20 minutes to finish cooking the sausage through the middle.

love the gluten free sausage balls! The milk in the sausage ball recipe makes it easier to mix all the ingredients together!
