Ingredients

lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1
lb ground sweet Italian sausage
1/2
onion, finely chopped
1
small green bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1
can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen® organic fire roasted crushed or diced tomatoes, undrained, pureed in blender or food processor
1
tablespoon packed brown sugar
1
tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2
cup ketchup
1
teaspoon ground mustard
6
burger buns, split

  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium-high heat until no longer pink, stirring and breaking up with wooden spoon as necessary.
  • 2 Add onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and ground mustard. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes.
  • 3 Serve over buns.
