Sloppy Joes are one of those great American ground beef recipes. Grown-ups have eaten them since childhood, practically making them comfort food. The ketchup and spices that season them are classic.

I have been making this recipe for as long as I can remember, now my daughters are grown up and making this recipe for their families. I have changed mine up slightly by adding mustard, about a 1/4 to 1/3 cup, and extra ketchup. Then topping it off with a slice of cheese on the bun! My family will tell you this is truly comfort food good for cold weather.

I have many this recipe many times, the only change (if you want to call it a change) is that I do not put in the red pepper sauce because our house does not like hot stuff. I will never buy a can sloppy joe again.

I have made this at least 50 times and I have never received a single complaint. Sometimes I add a tsp of light brown sugar but it's fantastic with or without it.

It was very flavorable. Great blend of flavors and just the right amount of spice. My son just loved them. He said that was in "Sloppy Joe Heaven" and that was the best he had ever eaten.

Very tasty. Instead of ketchup and water I used pasta sauce(garden vegtable). Next time I'll try a different sauce just to experiment.

Super easy to make especially if you don't have a can of Sloppy Joe sauce in the cupboard. I loved the addition of the chili sauce to give the meal a kick. Served with baked beans.
