Salted Caramel Skillet Brownie

Betty Crocker™ Supreme Original Brownie Mix is transformed into a salted caramel treat. Baked in a skillet, serve them warm, right from the oven.

box (1 lb 6.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ Supreme original brownie mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
cup caramel topping
teaspoon sea salt flakes or coarse sea salt


  • 1 Heat oven to 325°F. Grease bottom only of 10-inch cast-iron skillet with shortening. Make brownie mix as directed on box. Pour batter into skillet.
  • 2 Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean. Cool 30 minutes.
  • 3 Drizzle caramel topping over brownie. Sprinkle with salt. Cut into 12 wedges. Serve warm.

Expert Tips

Like brownies with nuts? Sprinkle chopped walnuts or other nuts on the baked brownies, or mix them into the brownie batter. For best flavor, toast the walnuts first.

Salt comes in many different types and flavors. Most grocery stores now carry at least 2 to 3 types of sea salts you can choose from.

To ensure your brownies do not stick, be sure to use a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet that has a smooth cooking surface without any defects or flaws.
