It's easy to make these gooey and chocolaty bars when you get a head start with a cake mix.

The cooking time was right on for me, but these weren't that great. Dry & Crumbly. I even added some yogurt to the recipe to help moisten them. Even the kids didn't care for them.

The cooking time for this recipe is way off. The cake should be cooked much longer than 20 minutes before adding the marshmallows. When our "finished" bars were done they were inedible. The cake was pure goo and we could not cut them into bars nor get them out of the pan to eat them. We give this one only one spoon rating as it would not allow us to give it a zero spoon rating.

To eliminate messy cutting, used cupcake liners for individual and easy to grab servings. Faster to bake and only put about 5 mini marshmallows on each. I pushed some chocolate chips into the center of the toasted marshmallows when they came out of the oven instead of making drizzle. Used unsalted, roasted macadamia nuts. Not dry like other reviews. Will make again!

The nuts became very soft and it took much longer to cook than stated in the recipe. I'm willing to try it again without the nuts and cooking it longer before adding the marshmallows on top. Then I'll have to rename the recipe Chocolate Marshmallow Bars since Rocky Road has to have almonds! Mine weren't dry at all like the other posts mention.

I was very disappointed by this recipe. As previous reviews mentioned the cake was very dry. Another problem is that the marshmallow was very gooey, but not in a good way. The only way this recipe was somewhat edible was with ice cream. Sorry, this was a big let down for me...

I sure wish I had read the reviews before we made the bars. They came out super dry and I totally agree using a brownie mix would be much better.

These were delicious but I think that next time I will try with a brownie mix just for moistness. I will definitely make again!
