Try this flavorful Mexican twist as an alternative to a traditional meat loaf dinner. You'll love the roasted tomato flavor and spice the Old El Paso® Mexican Cooking Sauce provides.
pouch (8 oz) Old El Paso™ Mexican Cooking Sauce Roasted Tomato
lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
cup crushed Old El Paso™ crunchy taco shells (about 6 shells)
medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
teaspoon garlic salt
teaspoon chili powder
Heat oven to 350°F.
Reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking sauce. In large bowl, mix remaining cooking sauce and remaining ingredients. Spread mixture in ungreased 8x4-inch loaf pan. Spread reserved cooking sauce on top.
Bake uncovered about 1 hour or until thermometer inserted in center of loaf reads 160°F. Drain meat loaf. Let stand 5 minutes; remove from pan.
Make it your own: If you like spicier food, add additional chili powder to the meat loaf mixture before baking.
