The trademark German chocolate brownie is made of mild, sweet chocolate and has an irresistibly rich and gooey nutty, coconut frosting.

This was delicious! However I didn't exactly follow the recipe. To make it easier on myself, I bought the family size box of Betty Crocker brownie mix, followed the directions on the box and then added the chocolate chips, reserving one cup for the frosting. I cooked it according to the box then frosted when it cooled. Yum!

My dayghter, age of 12, made these brownies for her Germany country report. All of the kids loved them! Then she made them for all of her teachers (some of their comments were...."these brownies were amazing!") Her sister wanted her to make some of them for some of her friends and her Sunday School class and they all enjoyed them temendously them. What a wonderful, moist, flavorful brownie! It was a little piece of heaven. I am bombarded with requests for the recipe!

I guess I did something wrong my edges were hard. But we heated them up in the microwave before eating them and they melted in our mouths my husband ate them for breakfast for the next 3 days.

I thought these were OK, but not the best. I didn't use the whole can of the frosting becuase I wasn't fond of the taste compared to homemade, but I still thought they were too sweet.
