This is my favorite summer cake! Mostly because it is so light and delicious and it is served cold! After reading many reviews and making this cake many times I have found that 1/3c of milk the recipe calls for is wayyyy too little and it does cause a clumpy mess of the pudding and your frostig gets ruined. The best way I found is to mix the pudding, 1/2c milk and the thawed cool whip all together at once with a mixer and this comes out perfectly smooth and clump free! Also some people said poking with a fork didn't make good holes for the jell-o to run down, I always poke my holes with a straw. It is the perfect size and lets just the right about of jell-o into every piece! I definitely recommend this cake, it is always a huge hit for me at 4th of july gatherings! :)

The topping turned out clumpy. Would suggest using more milk. Incredibly disappointed since this was a birthday cake for my colleague.

The idea of this recipe is great, but there were some issues. First of all, when I used a fork, there were only a few stripes of red gelatin in the middle, but for the most part, there was only strawberry on the top quarter inch, the bottom quarter inch, and a little on the sides. I suggest using something like a chopstick or a wide toothpick and making holes a quarter inch in diameter and three-quarters of the way down the cake. Second, one package of pudding mix and 3/4 of a cup of milk makes a disgusting clumpy mess of the topping. I suggest at LEAST 1 1/4 cups of milk ... AT LEAST. The cake tasted good, but I found myself searching around for the strawberry and spitting out clumps of the pudding.

Amazing! :0) instead of using strawberry jello, i used raspberry and i also used lemon pudding for the topping instead of white chocolate just because that's what i had... it was like a raspberry lemonade cake... and the most moist cake i have ever made! :0) i will be sure to make it again soon! oh, and it was very easy to do but looks very beautiful and thought out! :0)

This dessert came out amazing! Great 4th of July dessert.. I used Vanilla Pudding instead of White Chocolate because I couldnt find it, but it came out just as great as I was hoping for! Found this to be really easy to make, just time consuming.

The family loved it - even the 'grump' and the one who professed not to like strawberries! Will be making this one again and thinking about variations like chocolate cake with cherry gelatin. BTW, I used lowfat/low sugar white chocolate pudding mix because that's all my store had. Didn't seem to hurt the cake any.
