This looks awesome , but still have many questions. I think a BC how to, or step by step video would be great in these certain recipes where looks are everything. especially when having to spend alot on ingredients. So Betty Crocker (BC) Please post some videos (your making it anyway for the picture/receipe), so ours can come out just as good. Please use real ingredients and not props.

It took a while to put together, and my blue turned out sort of green, but it was fun...and tasted good. I took photos as I went and it made almost an entire other cake that I iced and let the kids have

I made this cake 4th of July. There was a few things I did differently, for ex. I put extra fruit on top since I'm not a big fan of sprinkles, and other things I will change next time I make it. My boyfriend took pictures and everyone was wondering how I did it and it looked good. Great Idea!

Made this cake today, but changed up a couple of things though. Instead of fruit I used strawberry and blueberry jam. I also made my own icing so I could control the sugar content and used white chocolate pudding in-between the layers. I usually bake cupcakes but wanted to do something else for a bbq. Came out cute and tasty. Just took a little long to put together.

The cake was a big hit at my daughter's July b-day party. Everyone loved the nice surprise inside, once I cut it and they loved the taste. Adding the strawberries and blueberries to the cake mix really gave it a nice flavor. It was hard to cut small slices because it fell apart, bigger slices were fine. Next time I will try to use more frosting between the layers to help hold it together. turned out just like the picture and it kept everyone trying to figure out how I did it. Used white sprinkles in the blue layer for stars. You could seem them a little, will try white chips next time to see if they show up more.

I made this tonight and I have to say I wasn't too impressed. I bought all the ingredients that were listed, I followed the directions to a T, and my cake still turned out looking like... well like a giant snowball! First, I looked at 4 different stores and couldn't find the red/white/blue sprinkles, so I substituted 4th of July flag candy decorations. My layers were crumbly (even after freezing for half an hour), and honestly, if I didn't know the fruit was in it, I never would of known. Yes, it was a cute cake in the end (VERY sweet!), but way to costly, WAY to time consuming, and WAY, WAY, WAY to much of a hassle to make. I'll try this again maybe next year, but maybe not.

I made this for the 4th of July and everyone loved it. Turned out just like the picture, will be making this again. Maybe only use 2 can of frosting. It only took me 2 hour to do yhis.

I made this cake for a family reunion. It was a hit! No leftovers! If I make it again, I would use only the egg whites for the blue layer. Mine had a greenish color because of the whole egg. It was fun to make, but then I liked the challenge!

I made this cake for the 4th too. I followed the directions but added banana with a few drops of lemon juice to keep them from turning brown into the white layer. I added food coloring to the blue and red layers and some diced strawberries to the red layer. It came out great and everyone loved it. I agree it took a little longer to make than I thought but was worth it. I will be eager to try more creative cakes in the future. Thanks BC for posting!

Cute picture, but it ends up looking nothing like it. I followed the directions to a T, but my colors were nowhere near as bright. I even added a bit more color than called for. Too much frosting, and the stars you have to press on individual slices after baking. Really, a bad recipe. :(
