Comments: I made this recipe for a family barbque. I used a coconut cake rather than angel food. and I toasted the coconut. My family loved it. Even the non-coconut fans. The coconut and the lime are great together. I used real key limes not juice. I will make this many more times. |

Comments: Wonderful recipe with a few of my personal touch/changes; I did find it was difficult to get the Angel Food Cake out of the pan; I was able to only split it in half inster of 23 layers; I sliced the strawberries and kiwi and marinated them in sugar and blueberry liquor; I then put a layer of fruit between the layer of cakes; i also toasted the coconut slightly before decorating the cake with it; everyone loved it, even my daughter in law who doesn't like coconut! Will definatley make it again!! |

Comments: The only reason this recipe is even receiving a two is because I love Key Lime. I agree with some others where it just didn't go well together, especially the coconut. Had such high expectations of a real light refreshing dessert and it just didn't come through |

Comments: Every one in the family loved this cake, including me. Nearly everyone went back for seconds. I used 8 oz of Lite Cool Whip and a can of fat free sweetened condensed milk, but otherwise followed the recipe. The advertised 16 servings seems a bit unrealistic to me. Who eats a piece of cake that small? 12 servings would be more realistic. At 12 servings, and using lite cool whip and fat free milk, it comes out to 304 calories per slice, with only 4 grams of fat. Delicious. |

Comments: My family really enjoyed this however when I made it the second time, I forgot to buy the sweetened condensed milk so I added a package of DRY sugar free vanilla instant pudding to the cool whip (I used a little more) with the lime juice. It was just as good and with fewer calories. |

Comments: It has a very good taste, but is a little too sweet for my taste (by itself). Once I bought strawberries for it, it help reduced the sweetness some. Definitely use a mixer on the condensed milk and whip cream to fluff it up otherwise it is too sticky. |

Comments: This was very good. A nice light and refreshing dessert for the summer. Did this for my husband's birthday. He loves key lime and coconut so I figured that this was going to be a hit. What surprised me is that I liked it as much as he did. Can't wait to try this with other flavors. Raspberry, Lemon-(that isn't much of a stretch is it), I may even try pumpkin in the fall, I will play with this that's for sure. |

Comments: I feel you need to use the lime only, not the juice. The flavor is so much better. I've done it both ways, and my family loves it made with the real lime better. |

Comments: The frosting recipe is excellent. I have also used lemon in place of lime. Many years ago, we used to make cheese cake with the same recipe for this frosting minus the cool whip. Put it in a graham cracker crust and topped it with cherry pie filling.
Many raves on this cake and frosting. This is a keeper! |

Comments: Wow!! This was awesome and easy to put together. I took it to a bible study last night and everyone (even the kids) loved it. I give this a five star rating and I will absolutely make it again. If fact I have been asked to bring it to another summer get together. Thanks for the fantastic summer treat! |

Comments: "How good can a cake be, if even the kids won't eat it!"
I made this cake for my son's 17th birthday. I thought it would be a nice refreshing summer desert. However, we were all disappointed with this cake. It was very sweet and very tart at the same time. The coconut didn't go well with the lime and the condensed milk was too heavy for the cool whip. Nobody liked this cake and I was sorry I made it.
Don't try this at home! |

Comments: I was looking for something new to make for my dad's birthday. His favorite deserts are key lime pie and coconut cream cake (he loves angel food, too). I found this recipe and thought it sounded perfect for him. I found it to be VERY easy... with the exception of zesting the lime. I really need a new zester. I read all of the reviews before making it, so I decided to try it with only half the condensed milk and a little less than the 12 oz of cool whip. It turned out wonderful!! It was a big hit! Dad wants to know when he gets another one. One side note... if you're not a huge lime fan, you might not want to use the zest. |

Comments: This is one of the best cakes I've ever made. My friends think so also.I tried using the bottled lime juice, but the flavor is best when I use the real lime. The citrus flavor is great. |

Comments: I also "cheated" and bought an Angel Food cake at the grocery store, which I iced with the frosting in this recipe. I did use the 8oz. whipped topping as others had suggested it wasn't too wet. I did omit the coconut mainly due to soooooooooo many people saying it had a strange taste with the rest of the ingredients. This icing makes the cake. I did cut it into three layers and iced between them with the icing. A VERY impressive looking cake, and the taste was excellent. Good job Betty Crocker!! |
