I made this for my husband tonight and he loved it. Only comment he made was that I should make it again soon which may not seem like much, but normally he doesn't have much to say about the meals I prepare for him, unless he doesn't like them.

I made some substitutions-- turkey smoked sausage and a cheddar/pepperjack cheese combination. My family loved it! It's a great meal when you are looking to serve something different.

Quick, easy, and delicious. I've given this recipe to family and friends and they all love that you can fix it quick and forget it.

We did lots of substitutions the first time - turkey brauts, cheddar and jack cheese and non-alcoholic beer - and it was still a great dish. Then we made it once with turkey beer brauts, swiss and bock beer and it was wonderful!

This was pretty good, I used Tofurky Beer Brats, and a home made dairy free swiss, flax eggs, and the heart smart bisquick. I could have used more kraut, or some other veggie, like red peppers or something. I used North Coast Brewery Scrimshaw Lager, that was great flavor that you could still taste after baking. Over all, a good recipie, I will tweek it and add it to my rotations!

I made this last weekend, and think it is a good recipe to use sauerkraut in. The swiss cheese took a lot of the sourness away. I used Smoked Beef sausage instead of bratwurst. I think adding a little horseradish sauce would give it a more of a Reuben taste.

This was good the first time I made it, but there was something missing, and the second time I made it, I added a medium chopped onion sauteed in a little butter and added that to the saurkraut and Brats, then I figured that I always like coarse grain Dijon mustard on my Brats, so I added three heaping tablespoons of mustard on top of the saurkraut and that nailed the "missing" ingredient.....easy to put together and tastes just like a bratwurst that you'd eat out of hand......

Family's favorite Impossible Pie! Prepared as written and loved it. Also, substituted smoked sausage for brats and was great. Excellent way to stretch meat for two meals. Beer gives it that "something special" flavor and I would not leave it out (even with my young children). The only problem is that it doesn't make enough!

Excellent and Easy! Substituded the polish sausage "smokies" for the bratwurst and left out the beer, but it was still a hit. My husband took the left-overs to work with him and his co-workers liked it, too! We will definitely fix this one again.

Loved it! My husband "thinks" he doesn't like sauerkraut but he loved it, too! I used chopped sauerkraut and sliced the bratwurst into thinner slices to make it easier to cut and serve the wedges. I'll make this one again.

I "modified" the Oktoberfest Pie by using:Smoked Turkey Sausage, 2% milk Swiss cheese, Heart Smart Bisquick, skim milk, light beer, and egg substitute. The lighter version of the pie was delicious - my husband and I ate the whole thing ourselves.

This recipe is wonderful - - savory, tangy and delicious. I didn't have any Swiss cheese the first time I made it, so I substituted 2 ounces of sharp cheddar and 2 ounces of Mozzerella, and it was just as good as with Swiss. I have a friend who is an extremely picky eater (only likes pizza and hamburgers), and he dropped by the night I first made this pie. When I took it out of the oven, he said, "Man, that smells good!" He ended up eating two large helpings, and asked for the recipe. This pie is now the favorite for our whole family.

I thought this was real good but I added somr thinly slided onions before the cheese and some red pepper and garlic power into the bisquick mixture for just a hint of heat. MMM MMM GOOD.

This dish was very easy to make and very tasty. I added chopped onions, and spread a layer of thousand island dressing (approx. 1/2 cup)over the cheese which baked in and really gave it the taste of a reuben sandwich. I'll add Oktoberfest Pie to my lineup of fall recipes to prepare!

Great recipe!!!! A real great twist on a German favorite.did one thing different added bacon and sauteed onions to the sauerkraut mixture. Also instead of brats it's great with sausage. Boiled the sausage in the beer and then added that liquid to the bisquick mixture. In place of the beer in topping.

This was a easy dish to make, though I would seggest using a casaole instead of a pie pan and also cut the brats about 1/4". It was a wonderful dish for a cold October night.

I like to try new dishes and this was okay. We both like "German" dishes but this is not one I would make more than once a year. I added sauteed onions, as some others suggested, and think they enhanced the flavor. It is lacking something, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It is easy to make.
