Comments: This recipe has a been a long favorite. My children are grown and still ask for it and my grandchildren love it too. I modified the recipe slightly and use well drained crushed pineapple for the rings so every gets a lot and it's easier to cut. I also use half of the milk called for and after the batter is well mixed add the other half of the drained pineapple juice. Yummy! |

Comments: I have made this cake for years. I used to make this cake every year for my mother's birthday. I always just melted the butter and sugar together, stirred it into drained crushed pineapple and poured it into the cake pan. I always used the pineapple juice for the liquid in the cake. Now I am wanting some right now. |

Comments: This is a great recipe. Pancake mix is cheap and it's a great way to use a whole box.
The cake isn't sweet but it's moist.
Also I use pineapple tidbits and put in cupcake tins. I get pineapple cupcakes! |

Comments: I did this recipe without the nuts and it was pretty good. I would prefer the other not so quick recipe I have, but if I am ever short on time; this recipe will still be a hit. I had everything on hand and was a total breeze to throw together. |

Comments: I have the best memories that go along with my mom's Pineapple Upsidedown cake and wanted to give my children that experience. This cake was exactly what I was looking for, and from the reaction of my children, I will be making this cake many more times to hopefully create memories for them. Instead of water or milk I took other's advice and used the pineapple juice....worked wonderful. |

Comments: I too grew up with a similar recipe to which I believe my mother used to add yellow corn meal and baking powder for an extra lift! Anyhow, I made it with this recipe for the first time and was pleased. I think the reviewer who said she uses pineapple juice for the liquid has it right-on...for it was a peg off. I will definitely try that next! I subbed dried cranberries for the cherries since I abhore them, and it was enjoyable, esp. with whipped cream on top! A mental note; when I do sub the juice for liquid, I will go down on the white sugar at least 25%! |
