This cookie is my all time favorite holiday cookie. The type of fruit, the chewiness of the cookie make it delightful and everyone I have served one of these cookies to has loved it! I received a Betty Crocker Cookie Book for my 16th Christmas from my Godmother. That recipe book opened up a whole new world for me. Now in tatters from use for 41 years by myself, my children, my foster children and now my grandchildren I was sad to find my holiday fruit drop cookie recipe missing. Then it struck me that I could acquire it on-line. Thank you for this web site and outstanding recipes that have endured for generations.

My sister-in-law gave me this recipe last year and I was hooked from the first bite. They are as good as they look, and a delightful change from all the chocolate we make this time of year.%0d%0a

I found this recipe in 1970 in the Betty Crocker Cookie Cook Book... I have been baking them for EVERY Christmas since. This year a batch was sent to my son Jerome, who is stationed in Afghanistan. I buy extra candied cherries during the holidays, they freeze beautifully, that way I can bake up more batches through the year..... Thanks Betty, or as you are referred to in our household, Aunt Betty....

My family does not like "traditional" fruit cake, but loves these cookies. I have been making them for over 35 years! I originally found the recipe in Betty Crocker "Cookie Book".%0d%0aDiana, Houston, TX

I have been making this cookie for years. I recieved it from my husban's grandmother. There is also a chocolate version but I no longer have it. I would like to the chocolate version if anyone has it. The recipe was clipped from an unknown publication. I was delighted to find this recipe again. If you like fruitcake, you'll like this recipe.
