YUMMMMM!!! Made these for Christmas last year. Real baklava takes wayyyy too long - these were a PERFECT substitute. Everybody loved them. Can't wait to make them again this year!

Being Greek I must say I was leary of making these but I'm surprised out how great they really are! I added more nuts and drizzled honey over the top tastes like home!

Just tried these for the first time. They were great. My fiance and I both love baklava and he said these were just as good. I did follow the advice of others to crush the nuts (I did it in my food processor) and I think that helped. I also used the whole package of fillo dough. This recipe is a keeper.

These are easy to assemble. They are really sweet so I didn't add the additional honey for garnish. Also, the first thing I tasted was lemon. So if you don't like citrus flavors, cut down the lemon juice. I used 15 fillo shells because thats what was in the box and 8 didn't even cover the entire pan. This dessert has a variety of textures. Kinda messy, but still tasty. Have a glass of cold milk on hand!

Super easy to make and super easy to enjoy!! We got so many compliments and many requests for the recipe!! I used more walnuts than the recipe asked for, I just used the whole bag-1-3/4cups. Delicious!!

This is absolutely the most awesome dessert I've ever eaten! I've taken it to many parties and it's always a hit! So much easier to make than "real" baklava and a TON cheaper! Enjoy!

These were absolutely fabulous and my mother even said that they were "one of the best things you've ever baked." My boyfriend has a fatal allergy to nuts so I substitued granola for the walnuts but they still turned out utterly delicious. It was a great way to introduce my nut-free boyfriend to the amazing taste of baklava!

I made these for Christmas. The family was a little hesitant at first because it's the kind of treat that's not normally at the table but once they all tried them, they went fast. Easy recipe and a very happy family! I will certainly make these a regular treat at our table.

This recipe sounded sooo good. My husband makes and has his own favourite recipe for Baklava. I thought I would try it on picky. Definately will not make these ever again!

This is a great recipe. It seemed like it could use a little clove since real baklava has that in it.

These are amazing!! I like baklava, but these are even better than the original. I've made these several times and everyone agrees. Use all the phyllo (not just 8.) Thank you for this great recipe!

I've made these twice. I stuck to the recipe the first time and liked them very much but thought something was missing. So the second time around, I doubled the amount of phylo and glaze. I also food processed the walnuts and I really liked the texture much better! These are definitely worth every calorie!!!

I figured this would be just another 'try it, it's ok' recipe. I LOVE Baklava, traditional..multi layered Baklava. This recipe exceeded my expectations by a LONG shot. Not only did it taste SO much like the traditional with its textures and flavors, but I believe it was a bit better. The cookie aspect was to die for. I recomend this recipe to anyone who likes to eat :) My variation included putting the nuts in a food processor to eliminate 'chunks' and minimizing the zest to a small about and grated.
