I agree, instant potatoes should be instant without all the fuss. These had a strange taste to them, too much cream cheese! |

I used this recipe for a Christmas carry in and it was a major hit. I was able to double the recipe in my 6 qt crock pot and it was fine. I was serving die hard fresh mashed potato eaters and they just loved them. I have also passed on the information as to where my recipe came from. Thanks for such a great website. |

This recipe has quickly become a family gathering staple. It is hard to tell that they aren't REAL mashed potatoes, the flavor and texture are great. |

This is not only easy (and I have done it stove top
in a pinch) but I have 6 children and they all love it!
It works great with almost any meal. Must try to appreciate! You can also play with the amount of garlic
use little less or a little more! A great dish! |

My grown daughter comes to my house every year for Thanksgiving and every year she would beg me to make real mashed potatoes. That is until we discovered this recipe!

I made this for a family gathering instead of my make- ahead- mashed potates, a favorite I've made for yrs. I couldn't believe how near the taste was, and this is so much easier than peeling 5 lbs. of potatoes! I used 2 boxes of B.C.instant garlic mashed potatoes instead of just plain. It was really good. This one goes in the archives to be used over again. |

I'm all for showing people how to use their crock pots, but isn't this ridiculous? Instant potatoes are "instant" aren't they? Yes, using the crock pot to keep something warm on a buffet table is a great help, but this is a no-brainer! If you want an easy side, make the instant potatoes, but just throw them together on the stove, or in the microwave, the last 15 minutes before your main dish is done(like most people have been doing for decades).I'm giving this recipe a "2" because the potatoes will taste great, but I won't give it anything higher, because it's a waste of time (waiting an hour for INSTANT potatoes!) |
