The fire roasted tomatoes, dried ancho chiles and chocolate make this unique dish taste wonderful. I used Hunts Fired Roasted diced tomatoes because thats all they had at the local Wal Mart. They didnt have the dried ancho chiles powder, so I went to Harris Teeter for that. I served it with spanish rice. Froze the left overs. Im sure they will be just as delish the second time around!

I was looking for a fun way to use all my left over turkey. This was awesome! I've made it several times and now my sister-in-law wants to know how to make it. I haven't tried the fire-roasted crushed tomatoes because I couldn't find it. But it was still very yummy!

I am a HUGE Mole' fan so when I saw the chocolate in this I grabbed it. I had dried ancho chilies on hand so I ground them up. Also ... I didn't have semi sweet chips but I did have unsweetened cocoa so I just added sugar and cinnamon to the sauce. By mistake I put the green chilies in the sauce so I put Salsa Verde in the turkey mixture. I only added half of the tomatoes it called for because I thought it had too much liquid. Then I cooked it down for a half hour or so before I assembled everything. It was WONDERFUL!!%0d%0aA word of warning though ..... if grinding your own chilies becareful because it will make your eyes burn. VERY spicey sauce but we loved it.

The sauce on these is really what makes this recipe great. The chocolate really adds a slightly sweet flavor while the cumin and chili powder add smoke. I used regular crushed tomatoes instead of fire roasted- -I think fire roasted can be a bit overwhelming to a dish. I made half vegetarian w/ mushrooms for myself and did the turkey for the boyfriend. Really really tasty!!

This is the best and easiest recipe for company. It is a meal in itself, just add a salad and corn chips. I have had sucess every time I have made this recipe.
