These cookies are really easy to make, super yummy, and for the holidays, you can roll them in red or green sugar instead of regular sugar to make them extra festive!

Another variation - %0d%0aRoll into 1" ball and place in ungreased muffin pan and add the "mini" snickers bars to the tops and press in gently before baking. %0d%0a%0d%0aThe snickers add just a taste of chocolate and a little bit of peanuts - THEY ARE GREAT!%0d%0a%0d%0aRosetta

I've been making this cookie for over 30 years, and my mom made it before that. It is a Christmas cookie plate staple. Now my newly married niece is responsible for these at our family one day, 16 cookie recipe, 15 doz. each, Christmas Cookie Bake-a-thon. We converge on my sister-in-law's house with the dough ready, and we bake from 7 a.m. until we finish...around midnight. All the Christmas baking is done in one day!

This is a twist on a classic recipe I've made for years. I love the idea of decorating the kisses. My only thought is that the kisses will still be very firm, and the cookies may be difficult to eat. In the recipe I've used many times, you put the kisses on when they still have 3 minutes to bake. The kisses don't melt, they maintain they're shape, but they are soft to bite into, even after the cookies cool.

This is a great to do with Grandkids. As a little change we added a bag of variety Kisses and we make a math lesson out of it. They loved it.
