I made this cake for my son's 1st b-day. I did mine a little different. Instead of pull-apart cupcakes, I made the body a cake. The legs and head were cupcakes. It made it easier for me that way. I also used M&M's for the eyes and to decorate the shell.

I am not an expert baker. This recipe was easy to follow and had great results. It took only about a hour and a half to complete it. I brought it to school for my students to eat while I gave a presentation. They enjoyed them and so did some of my co-workers who dip in.

This recipe is great for birthday parties! It was a hit at my son's fifth birthday party and cleanup was very simple...much easier than cleaning up after cake (plates, forks etc) because the cupcakes pull apart into individual "personal cakes." I would definitely make these cupcakes again!

Made this cake for my granddaughter's 4th birthday. Per her request it had to be pink. Added 3 more cupcakes to it's body, decorated it's body dark pink with green outlines and green flippers. Used strawberry cake and strawberry frosting. Also added a pearl necklace and earings. AWESOME. Everyone loved it, especially my grandbaby. My family and I had a great time making this cake. Will definitely make this cake again.

This was perfect for my son to take in to school for his birthday. The convenience of it being made out of pull apart cupcakes was a real winner with the teacher, and the turtle design was a winner with my son.

this cake is so creative and its fulfilling at a childs birthday. with this cake every child at the party can have their own little piece of the turtle. then to make it funner the kids can help make this and decorate it also. its such a great activity to do with your child. especially, if you allow the children to decorate it the way they want it.

I was wondering what I could do for my son's sixth birthday that was different from the two-layer birthday cake. I was about to bake the cake and saw that I could go to bettycrocker.com and look for birthday ideas. I saw this one and decided to try it. My son loved the turtle shape and he loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! So it was perfect. Very easy to make.
