This is a great recipe. My husband and oldest child absolutely love it. I am making it again for the family this year for the party at my grandmother's. Mmmmmm. The Candy Cane Coffee Cake is delish. Try it and enjoy. |

I made this as written except I used canned cherry pie filling. It turned out wonderful, moist and sweet. However the next day it dried out quickly, and was covered the whole time. This is definately worth the time if you will be eating it the same day. |

best christmas desert i make the cakes for my family there great to give away, but i fill them with pie filling blueberry, cherry and apple, i have amde these cakes for 15 yrs they have become a part of our christmas dinner |

I have been making this coffee cake for Christmas for the past 30 years and it has always been a big hit. I now get requests from people to receive one of "my" cakes as a gift for the holidays or to bring 1 or 2 as an appetizer. |

We have made this coffe cake for the past 20 years. It is a Christmas favorite and very easy to assemble. The recipe is quite simple and the result excellent. We used to make one recipe of 3 but as our grandchildren have grown and our Christmas "crowd" is larger we now bake six. It is eagerly anticipated each year as Pappy's Candy Cane Cake. We do not put the candies on for decoration. We make the icing and put cherry halves down the center. They look very yummy on Christmas morning when we all gather for brunch. |

My mom and I make these almost every Christmas. It has become a tradition I look forward to. A lot of work, but well worth it spending the time with her. The tart apricots and sweet cherries really compliment each other. And what beautiful gifts these make when handed out at office parties or to neighbors! |
