Comments: I made this cake in a 13x9 in. pan, but I think it would have turned out better as a double decker 9 in. cake. I didn't really have any problem with the cake or the icing while I was making it, although the icing burnt a little on the bottom of the pan. My family absolutely loved it, but I didn't especially care for the flavor of the cake. |

Comments: My company just loved it. Everyone had seconds. I usually have half a cake left over but not this time. It was gone. It came out so light. The carmel icing was easy to make. |

Comments: This cake is yummy and rich! I brought it to a family gathering and it went pretty quickly. I didn't put enough 'filling' in so it didn't look quite like the picture, but that just left more frosting for the top. Even though I whisked the frosting continuously while cooking, it seemed to be of two consistencies in the saucepan, a little more liquidy on the top and heavier on the bottom. It was pretty obvious when I poured the frosting out of the pan onto the top of the cake - there was a gooey glob at the bottom of the pan. Oh well - still tasted great! |

Comments: In need of a last minute potluck item, I came across this recipe. I honestly only chose it because I had all the ingredients and the reviews made it seem as if it was decent. (I personally do not like caramel.) I was overwhelmed by the response of the recipients! Everyone loved it! I have never had such a successful bring along! I even had a piece myself and actually enjoyed it!! Thank you, Betty! |

Comments: Just wanted to add my opinion. I first found this cake in the little books that they sell at the checkout. This is my husband's absolutely favorite cake. Its easy to make, it just takes a lot of whisking for the frosting. I suggest this cake for any occasion, it will be such a hit. |

Comments: I also made this as a sheet cake. It was delicious! The topping takes a bit of time but is worth it. I keep this recipe handy for potlucks. It also keeps well and the flavor mellows so that it is just as good the next day- -if you have any left over! |

Comments: This is the second time I've made this cake. It's a wonderful recipe and my friends and co-workers go wild over it. I made it as a sheet cake. I also put pecans on top of the icing. Icing was more runny than I wanted but it worked out well for the sheet cake. |

Comments: I followed the recipe exactly the first time and I must say that it was the most delicious and moist cake I've tasted in a long time! My only problem with the recipe is the Caramel Icing which took an enormous amount of time to make. I'm a little impatient and that was very difficult for me. However, the second time I made this cake, I just used the ready-made Betty Crocker Caramel Icing and it was so much better for me! I took it to work and it was gone in no time whether I used the handmade icing or store bought. |

Comments: This recipe is fantastic. My family loved it. I am looking forward to making it again. The recipe is easy to follow and the topping is delicious. If you make this recipe put alot of the filling in the middle, I didnt put enough thinking i would need it for the top portion of the cake. I let it drizzle down the sides and its looked fancy. |

Comments: I followed the recipe exactly, but the icing just separated, the butter flowed away from sort of a congealed looking mess.I don't even want to put it on the cake. I doubt that I will go to the trouble or expense to make this again. |
