This recipe was AMAZING! I used red velvet cake mix instead of the german chocolate cake and it made it just a tad bit sweeter and gave it a pretty strawberry color. Im a teen baker, so I'm always on the look out for easy fast recipes. This one was SO simple and absolutely delicious. I let my friend and her mom try it, and not only did they rave, they begged for the recipe!

This is a wonderful dessert. I too was iffy about the bottom but proceeded with it. It worked out great! My kids loved it. My husband took one bite and said that having this in the house was going to be a problem. He loves anything that contains sugar. This should satisfy any sweet tooth.

Wow, what a wonderful dessert. My family loved it. I'm not a coconut fan. In fact, I dont't like it. When I saw it called for the coconut and pecan frosting, I thought this might not be good. However, I was surprised. I will definitely be making this again. Very easy, very little time and what a wonderful result. Thanks for such a great new dessert.

This recipe did not turn out like I thought it would. The bottom was firm, but did not taste very good. The top was good but was overpowered by the bottom. I would recommend making the bottom like regular cake then adding the rest. I would not make this recipe as it appears again.

I knew I would have trouble with the bottom portion when I read the recipe. I tried it anyway and the bottom part was not a success at all. That is a whole LOT of cake mix for one stick of butter: it fell apart and the picture looks like it would come out like a dense cake. It didn't for me. The top part of the dessert was really good though. I don't think I will try it again though.

This dessert is awesome! When mixing up the bottom layer I was woried because it looked too dry, but I went ahead with it & it turned out wonderful. It was very quick and easy and turned out very different & delicious.
