Comments: These are a new holiday favorite. I crushed 3 regular (not mini's) candy canes in my grinder - fast, easy and no mess. I had no problem with the dough consistency. Can't wait to make some more. |

Comments: I am not sure why some didnt like these. All I can think of they must not have ever had 'snowball/wedding cookies' before. They are dry and crumbly. At least every one I ever had was which is why they are not usually my first choice but someone I know loves them.I would also think by looking at the ingredient list and measurements you could see they would not end up chewy or soft.Must be me.The amount of dry/wet ingredients it seemed obvious to me how they would turn out. |

Comments: Great snowball cookie. My husband is allergic to nuts and can't have the original nut snowballs. These were great. I made 2 batches for a cookie exchange. 1st one used butter-2nd one used margarine. Butter cookies were flakier but did not hold the "ball" shape as well as the margarine batch. I will probably use 1/2 butter-1/2 margarine next time I make. They are actually better the second day. Store in an airtight container- they get moister and even mintier! Easy and delicious! |

Comments: This will turn our great-BUT you MUST finely crush the candy canes and CHILL the dough for an hour before rolling and they will turn out great! You can also place the cookies from the baking sheet into a 13 x 9 pan that you have sprinkled with crushed candy canes and just sprinkle ther remaining on them right in the pan. You can also serve each cookie in a Christmas paper cupcake cup for a nice presentation. |

Comments: I love these cookies! I had no problems with the cookies being to doughy, in fact that never crossed my mind! You will need to let them sit after taking them out of the oven for about five minutes so that they will not crumble. I worked on other treats while I let them cool. I handed these out in gift bags to my college friends and everyone thought they were amazing, especially compared to dorm food. This is a unique cookie that is relatively easy and inexpensive to make! |

Comments: If you like the taste of cookie dough then these are great cookies. I had no problem with the dough or them breaking apart, but they still tasted doughy when I baked them 5 minutes over the recommended time. I'm making another batch that have been flat, I hope that they come out better. |

Comments: This recipe is missing something, there is nothing to hold it together. When trying to roll it into balls the batter is so sticky it won't form. When you cook them, they turn into to flat cookies not balls. When completed the cookies just crumble and taste like raw. I don't recommend this recipe, Betty needs to go back to the drawing board. |

Comments: If you like and enjoy peppermint, you will enjoy these cookies! As a kid candy canes were alway's a great expierence during the holiday's,these remind me of that special time! To me,they taste like "Russian Tea Cakes" minus the peppermint. |

Comments: These make a nice little addition to a dessert table. Make certain to FINELY crush the candies or when you bite into the cookie you'll hit a ROCK! I would consider adding just a touch of peppermint oil to the batter for a little more flavor. I also cut the recipe in half and it gave me 20 cookies - just right for a small dish. |

Comments: I thought they were very nice. I made them bigger, got only 24 and had no problem with them being dry. Plus it only took me less than and hour to make, not over 2 hours as it said. They are doughy but this is the type of cookie snowballs are, more doughy. I like them and so do my kids..Who are picky. |

Comments: I made these last year for the first time- they were so popular I knew I needed a double batch this year. :o)%0d%0aCrushing the peppermints in the food processor was less messy and faster. I also mixed the dough in the processor for the most part- just kneeding in the last of the flour by hand.%0d%0aThe baker who complained about crumbly cookies- just mix them more (I know it sounds odd- but it'll work). The dough just needs to be worked back together. Also, if you play with the dough to make the balls (like playdoh) and manage to avoid creases they won't crumble when you take them off the cookie sheet. |

Comments: Such a delight! I used a bag of Andy's peppermint chips instead of the crushed peppermint candies. It was much easier and wow are they yummy! I used most of the bag in the cookies. I added 1 and 1/2 peppermint extract. Cool and refreshing! |

Comments: Having had a mother and grandmother who spent every weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas making christmas cookies its been hard to live up to their delicious cookies. It was great to see a twist on the traditional "snowball" cookie. It's a nice light peppermint taste, not over bearing. These are a favorite for everyone who tries them (incuding the kids). I used a small cookie scooper and didn't bother to roll them (they're still round). My food processor made quick "peppermint chips". They look great! I was able to mix the ingredience and bake them all in just an hour. I love it when a recipe doesn't call for a packaged product. After all Betty Crocker & Christmas are all about homemade! |
