Comments: These cupcakes are fantastic. They are the best cupcakes I've ever made. I've never really been good at making cupcakes, they usually come out as a disaster usually getting burned. But this time they were so nice I was almost addicted to eating them.In fact i'm probably eating one as you're reading it. My advice to people is if you're not very good at making cupcakes this is the recipe for you |

Comments: These cupcakes are the best I've ever had! I like them so much that I'm having them instead of a cake for my birthday this year (I usually have carrot cake, which is my favorite - I am not usually a big chocolate fan, but these cupcakes have made me a convert!) I agree that the cream cheese mixture does not look anything like the picture - mine stayed at the top and spread out over the entire top of each cupcake (which looked rather ugly), but once I put the icing on top the cupcakes looked fine (I used my own homemade icing - the stuff from a plastic tub should be banned - it is AWFUL!!!) I was making the cupcakes for my friend who was celebrating her birthday, and she and her family loved them just as much as my family and I did. My daughter had a great time decorating the cupcakes with chocolate chips - she actually had a "dog" party for her 10th birthday this year, and I wish I had found this recipe in time for it - they would have been perfect! One final word - YUM!!! |

Comments: these have been the biggest hit out of all the cupcakes ive made! my trick for the cream cheese is double the quantity and add 1/2 of sugar and more chocolate chips. It is enough to make 48 cupcakes but the consistency of the cream cheese makes it sink perfectly into the cake batter!! Just a tip especially good if you are making a lot of cupcakes! :) |

Comments: After reading other reviews where bakers found a problem with the cream cheese mixture setting at the top of the cupcake, I tried to experiment- I thought I would bake a few as directed then try the other method of placing the filling mid-way between layers of batter. I used 1/3 Less Fat cream cheese (the only kind I had on hand) and tried a half-tray of cupcakes baked as directed in the recipe. I watched in the oven window as the batter baked up and surrounded the cream cheese mixture. It worked fine, so I baked the rest of the batch the same way. The white filling sank almost all the way to the bottom of the cupcake, just like in the picture, which was fine with me. I think the low fat cream cheese is the trick here, and even adding a bit of flour next time might help to center the filling - but it tastes GREAT as is. I would make this again - used the fluffy frosting and it was delicious. |

Comments: These cupcakes are wonderful! As others suggested, I filled the cup halfway, then put the cream cheese mixture in, then filled it the rest of the way. They looked like the picture, and tasted great. |

Comments: I gave these a low rating only because I didn't get to try them. I should've read reviews before making these. The cream cheese mixture stayed on top and I was not able to frost them. I had to throw them away. I will definitely try again with the suggestions that I have read. |

Comments: WOW, these were easy and amazing! The only thing I did differently from the recipe is filled the cupcake paper liner more than 1/4 (about 2/3) full so that the cream cheese filling can sink and bake in the center. They turned out perfect. Huge hit! |

Comments: I have made these for years and get asked to bring to grandkids birthdays. I had the problem with the cream cheese not sinking. So I put in about 2-3 Tablespoons of the cake mix then the cream cheese mixture and then more cake mix and it works GREAT. GOOD LUCK |

Comments: My daughter wanted a "dog party" for her 8th birthday, and I found this recipe via search. I read the reviews and decided to try it. EXCELLENT! A huge hit! The kids wanted more! They are just like big Black Bottoms. I followed the advice and put the cream cheese mixture in first, then the choc mixture. While it didn't look like the photo, the cc mixture did stay on the bottom. We will make these again! NOTE: mini choc chips are made in a plant that processes peanuts (bummer, we had a girl with peanut allergies at the party and she could not enjoy these). |

Comments: We LOVE this recipe! It is my most requested recipe to maka and to have. I actually use a Cake Mix Doctor recipe for the cake (usually a chocolate buttermilk recipe) and then add the cream cheese mixture. Can't recommend this recipe enough. |

Comments: The filling in this recipe did not turn out like I expected. It didn't really make enough for all the cupcakes to have an adequate amount and it kinda cooked into the cupcakes, so instead of being "creamy" it was more solid. They do taste good, but would be better if the filling turned out creamy and there was a little more of it. |

Comments: These cupcakes are amazing! I would DEFINITELY suggest heating the cream cheese before adding the sugar and egg to make it slightly warmer than room temperature so that it will sink to the bottom of the cupcake. I am going to make these with white cake (dyed red), white icing (dyed pink), and white chips for valentines day! Very tasty!! |

Comments: I read some of the previous reviews, so made sure to bring the cream cheese to room temp in hopes that it would sink into the cupcakes and they would look like the picture. Some of it did sink in, but most of it remained on top, making the cupcakes look as if they have some kind of skin disease (which the frosting covered up). I'm sure my kids won't care, as they are delicious. I do still wonder how they got them to look like that in the picture. |

Comments: Despite the problems I read others had I had no problems at all. All ingedients should be at room temp. If the cream cheese mixture is cold it won't sink. I also add extra dark cocoa to my cake mix because my family loves dark chocolate. We also didn't frost because it made them way to sweet. Philly cream cheese comes in small packages 3 oz each. It may not be available in all areas. Great recipe will use again!! |

Comments: I also loved this recipe. It is very tasty. However, I had trouble with the recipe. I have never seen a "3" ounce pkg of cream cheese. I used two 8 ounce pkgs and it turned out fine, but with a lot of filling left over. A whole cup of choc chips seems too much for only 6 ozs of cream cheese. As far as where the filling goes. I put the heaping teaspoon of filling in first and the 1/4 cup of batter on top. It looks just like the picture that way. I'll be making these again, but I would like the recipe to be corrected on the filling. Please? |
