i had posted the recipe for this cake but i guess "they removed it" !! dont understand why when others post recipes on here, i have actually searched for specific recipes and found where other people posted stuff, so here i go again , will try and repost this, really posting a recipe is no different than giving suggestions for recipes right>??!! butterfinger cake::: 1 devils food cake mix 1 1/3 cup water 1/2 cup oil 3 large eggs Topping: 8 oz. jar caramel topping 14 oz.can condensed milk 4 butterfingers crushed 12 oz.cool whip 8 oz.cream cheese mix cake ingredients in large bowl at medium speed for 3 minutes, pour into 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 28-35 minutes (until done) after removing from oven, poke holes in top of cake with a straw. pour milk and caramel topping in a bowl, mix well then pour over warm cake, sprinkle half of the candy bars on top. then, mix cool whip and cream cheese with a mixer about a minute, then spread over cake then top with remaining crushed candy bars! hope you all enjoy !!

i have one that is very similar to this one but i bet its much better, you use devils food cake mix instead, and you use caramel topping and condensed milk and you poke your holes in the cake and then mix the caramel and milk together then pour over the cake then you use 4 butterfingers but use only half (you have to crush the butterfingers first), okay so after you pour your topping then use half the butterfngers and sprinkle over top of cake thenyou mix 12oz cool whip and 8 oz.cream cheese together then poor that over the cake then top with remaining crushed candy bars, i will be glad to give you the recipe, dont know if i can post my email here though, will try, its dvicki3@aol.com and please put in the subject line, "cake recipe" so i will know its not spam!

I have been making this cake for years and have ALWAYS gotten compliments. Everyone loves it. It is totally my favorite cake ever. So easy to make. I have sometimes used butterscotch topping instead of caramel and that is great too.

I make this cake regularly--you can use the lo fat or no fat Condensed milk and no-fat caramel with NO change in taste. Suggestion, put milk and caramel in microwave-proof measuring cup, nuke about 15 seconds at a time and stir in between. After less than 90 seconds it's much easier to pour. I put either finely chopped nuts or shaved chocolate on top.

My mother and grandmother both proclaimed this cake "delicious". I did NOT, however, use German chocolate cake mix. I opted for triple chocolate instead. I also added a 4 serving box of chocolate instant pudding mix to the cake mix (as I now do with all cake mixes, to rave reviews). A tip: I used my knife sharpener instead of a wooden spoon handle to poke holes, mainly because I gave all the wooden spoons to my kids to play with, but I had no problems with the cake sticking. I also think I personally would prefer chocolate chips or nothing to the toffee chips on top.

If you want to WOW your family and friends then make this cake. I made it one year for a Holiday get together and every time we get together I am asked to make this cake. I even make it for my family at home. It is the BEST cake ever!!!!!

I found this recipe last week while hunting around the internet for something different to make for my granddaughter's birthday. All I can say is this cake was awesome! First time that there was no cake was left at the end of the party and the kids were scraping the crumbs out of the cake dish. This is definitely a keeper. My daughter told me that she thought the Toffee bits were what really made this extra good.

I enjoy most every cake recipe I make with Betty Crocker, however I found this one to be way to sweet for my husband and I.

I have been making this cake for about 25 years for my daughters birthday cake. However I use the deep dark chocolate cake mix I have had to even make a homemade chocolate cake one time. I also use half butter scotch, half caramel sauces on it. Also like one other reader, use crushed skor bars on it. It is really wonderful...Had to take it to the hospital when daughter had her baby...all the nurses loved it too.

Very easy to prepare. And once you've topped it with the toffee bits, it looks like a professional made it! It's very good after it's chilled a few hours. It's AMAZING after it's been refrigerated overnight! By this time, the wet ingredients well incorporate with the cake and it becomes moist throughout. I made this for an everyday cake at home, but would be very happy to make & take this to an occasion or to offer it to guests. Cuts clean and serves up well.

I ate this cake at a party--best and most moist I've ever put in my mouth!!!! I got the recipe, made it for the family. It was a big hit-so I made it Christmas-that was my mistake-lol-now, I have to make it at least once a week for us, or someone elseth!!! Everyone loves this cake. But I was given the name Better Than S**. I top with crushed Heath or Skor candy bars.

I just made this last night to bring into the office today and it was a HUGE hit. I bake for the office often, and everyone likes almost everything I make, but this dessert received especially rave reviews and I made it exactly as the recipe directed, using the caramel sauce. I'm pretty sure requests to make it again will be coming in soon, so I'll definitely make it again!

I don't know what happened with catswhiskers but we LOVE this cake. I made with the caramel sauce(my fave). My husband also calls this the Better Than S** Cake as well. I get raves everytime I make for an occasion.

I had such high hopes for this cake. It started well but ugh!!! do not use caramel sauce. It was just overpowered with caramel. Not nice at all. I might make it again using fudge cause but this truly was an unpleasant experience. Husband hated it to.

I make this cake using the german chocolate cake mix along with the sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce...but on top of the cool whip I have toasted coconut and chopped pecans! Now that's YUMMY!

We've been making this cake for years as well, also without the sweetened condensed milk. It's known as "better than s*x cake". the comments about this being VERY rich are true. It's best with either an icey cold glass of milk, or a nice hot cup of coffee.
