New Orleans "Best" Gumbo was tastey. Be sure not to buy crab meat with any shells. I left out the okra. It was very good.

This gumbo is delicious, the rouge is so tasty, taste like mama's gumbo. Dont forget to cut up the gizzards if you dont it will taset gummmy but still delicious. Excellent recipe. My husband had 3 bowls the first day, my son told his friend and he came over just to try it and ate the remainding gumbo.

Don't let the long list of ingredients turn you away from this delicious recipe. I was skeptical with some of the ingredients to put in it, but when my daughter-n-law made the gumbo, I had to try it. Never have I tasted such a better Gumbo than this. No kidding! I couldn't even stop eating it to put it on rice. P.S. Just remember to pull the tails off the shrimp before adding to the pot. My daughter-n-law forgot and we were pulling hot tails off before eating. It was GREAT! The Gumbo and the hot shrimp tail story!

I loved it! The flavor was outstanding. I added corn and green beans and only put in half the sausage to make in a little bit healthier and it tasted great. Next time I think Ill use lump crab meat.
