I took this to a potluck, and everyone was arguing over taking home the small amount that was left over

This is a sure win with the family. This is my fiance's fav. recipe! It is even good with switching out splenda for the sugars in the recipe (for a slightly lighter version). This is really good with cinammon ice cream. Yum!

The cake was delicious as was the sauce. I think I will follow the advice of another baker and use more butter next time. Even so, the cake was a HUGE hit at a Mother's Day cookout last night.

This cake is a huge hit whenever I bake it! The brown sugar creates a very unique flavor that is unforgettable. Being from a long line of bakers (in our family), I like to experiment by trial and error. The cake tasted a little dry the first time out, so I added a 1/4 c. more butter and a 1/4 c. of vegetable/canola oil. MMMMM...moister results. Though I loved the butter sauce, I sometimes omit it completely and just dust the cake with confectioner's sugar. A little lighter and the brown sugar taste of the cake is more enhanced. All in all, no matter what alterations you make, this cake is a definite keeper!!

Excellent cake to serve guests. However, I would cook it less next time. Definitely a classic.

I tried this recipe and it is great. Instead of the sauce, I drizzled carmel and chocolate over the cake and then topped with cool whip. My family went crazy over this. It makes the whole thing very rich tasting.

I turned this into cupcakes to make them more appealing for my children but I don't think it would have mattered. This smelled delicious in the oven and I couldn't keep the kids away from them while they were cooling. The brown sugar flavor is incredible. I did have some that bubbled into a crunchy top but those still tasted good.
