Turned out very tasty, the frosting was the thickness of a glaze. I added powdered sugar until the consistency was what I wanted. Very sugary, cut servings thin! I used raspberry framboise for the frosted and it turned out very good.

I made this cake for my husband's last birthday. He loved it! I have to say, it is a very rich, dense cake. We could only eat a small slice per serving, but it was wonderful. Definitely a "special" occasion cake, but worth the effort!

The Icing is too thin, and of a bad consistency.

I used this recipe for our wedding and was very pleased with the results. Instead of the raspberry frosting I used coconut flavored frosting. I alternated the layers with raspberry jam and the coconut frosting. It was easy to make and held up well for decorating. It was such a hit the only taste I got was when we first cut the cake. I'm planning on using the recipe for our anniversary and also for a friend's baptism.

My family loved this cake. I only used 1/4 C Liqueur Framboise in my frosting & 1/4 C milk because I was afraid 1/2 C liqueur would be too strong; I was happy with the results. I also stirred about 1T of the seedless raspberry jam into the remaining approx. 1/2C frosting to write Happy Brithday. The color matched the filling better than if I had used food coloring & created an interesting glitter effect on the writing and the piping I put around the cake. have made this cake 3 times and always get raves on appearance and flavor.

I could not find raspberry syrup when I made this, so I changed everything raspberry to strawberry. It was a huge hit, and I will definitely make this one again!

This cake is fairly easy to make and tastes great. The only problem I have had is getting all three cakes to be thick enough to cut in half.

This was delicious!A little work but so worth it.Got rave reviews from my guests!!I used 1/2 cup of crisco,1/2 c margerine, and 1/2 c butter for the cake batter instead of all butter. I used 1/2 c unsalted butter and only 1/4 c margerine for the frosting and left out the raspberry syrup for the for the frosting of the layers. Then I added a little syrup for the overall frosting of the cake.Excellent and will make again and again.

It's ok, not as good as I thought it would be. The frosting turned out like a glaze so I used a store bought one and it was really bready tasting not like a cake.
