Your recipe sounds delicious instead of the way I currently make Pineapple Upside-Down cake. Because of cholesterol problems, I replace the butter with fat-free non stick cooking spray and pat the brown sugar on it. It works just as well without all the calories and fat. Using bananas seems interesting, I will give it a try.

This recipe has completely changed the way I make Pineapple upside down cake. there's even room to play with it. I did find that it comes out better with just a half a teaspoon baking powder added.

Great recipe! I tweaked it a bit by using fresh pineapple that I chopped coursely and added some dried cherries instead of the maraschino cherries. It came out perfectly and only took about 15 minutes of prep time. This one is a keeper!

Hey everyone, my mom used to make a pineapple upside down cake when I was a little girl. My mom passed away due to cancer many years ago. I have a 13 year old daughter, and I want to make one for her. I've read your reviews, and I'm going for it this week. I'll let you know how it turns out...can't wait to create comfort food memories with my little girl too:)

My mother made this delicious coffee cake back in the 50's. I loved it then and still do. It is an all time favorite and very quick and easy to make. I too use the pineapple juice instead of water to give it an extra kick. Wonderful!

I made this with "CRUSHED PINEAPPLE" and Macadamia nuts on top, for the finishing touch. My 5 guests and I finished the whole cake. I made another one 2 days later.

Super easy and delicious. Family not big fans of pineapple upside down cake but no complaints with this one. I didn't add nuts due to small children and no cherries, still yummy
