This cake was easier to make then it looks. You can use any flavor cake mix or frosting you want. I used lemon cake and lemon frosting and had fun with the candy decorating. It was the highlight of my table of goodies at my Miche Bag party! A purse cake for a purse party - it was perfect!!!

I made this for my daughters 2nd birthday and she loved it! Once again, it was fun to construct :-) I used a square of left over cake (from cutting the base of the purse) and used that to put the candles in so as to not ruin the effect of the purse, then wrote my daughters name in icing on the cake stand (ie where the tea cups are in the Betty Crocker version).

Loved this cake! I made this for my mother's 60th birthday, and she loved it! I put mixed fruit in a yellow cake mix and it was great! Thank you!

I made this cake for my mother's birthday. I had never made any other cake except for a round one. After seeing how easy it looked on the video, I decided to try it. Wow, it came out great!

I made this cake for my friend's 17 b-day, it was sooo easy to make, I used pink frosting and decorated it with jelly beans red frosting and red twizzlers for the handles (I put 2 handles). There's a video tutorial for this cake, it is very informative.

I tried making this cake twice. Both times were a disaster. I dont know if it was the butter cream frosting, maybe it was to thick and heavy. The cake would not stand up and I couldn't keep the layer together. It just kept falling apart. Will try again, but with the Betty Crocker frosting and toothpicks holding the layers together.

Great idea...bad execution. When doing decorative cakes, I've always made my own buttercream. For this cake I bought the recommended Betty Crocker Icing to save time and within 2 hours after decorating, the icing was sliding down the side of the cake and the "glue" holding the two pieces together soaked into the cake and the cake fell over. DO NOT use premade icing. Make your own buttercream! Otherwise a cute cake.
