I'm so glad I found this recipe! I picked up a BC Pumpkin Cookie mix (must be new), so I can't wait to try this. I will take the advice of others and add more spices (ginger and cloves) and also change the filling to cream cheese. I'm also going to make the cookies as small as possible, so they will fit into the mini muffin paper cups. I plan on adding them to my Christmas cookie gift boxes, so I hope they are a hit! :)

I took the suggestion of others to add 1/2 teaspoon of ginger. These are creamy and good! I am making these for my family thanksgiving dinner. I picked up the cranberry dish that hadn't turned into a gelatin yet, I accidentally spilled cranberries on some of the cookies. It made them even tastier! Very yummy!! I didn't make the cream, I just wanted a pumpkin cookie!

Love these so good and easy to make. I am not going to use the marshmallow filling next time to soft. It soaked into cookie so it wasnt good the next day. The cookies were the winner good plain or with filling.

These are very good. Easy to make and great for a crowd. I added 1/2 teaspoon ginger to the recipe and they were a big hit. By the end of the night there were none left. Going to make them again over Thanksgiving. I do recommend this recipe. ENJOY!

These were very easy to make. My batch only made 12 pies (I made them big) so I would double the recipe next time. I made them 3 days in advance and kept both the cookies and icing refrigerated in separate containers. Chewy, soft, sweet, and delicious!!!!!!

Cookies needed more flavor, so I doubled the cinnamon and added 1/2 t cloves and 1/2 t ginger. The marshmallow creme filling was WAAAAAY too sweet, so I made a cream cheese filling (4 oz softened cream cheese, 6 T softened butter/margarine, 1/2 t vanilla, 1 1/2 C powdered sugar). The cream cheese filling was a much better compliment to the pumpkin cookies (or so they said . . . the people who devoured them ;)

i have a recipe to make "whoopie cookies" starting with a cake mix. What changes would have to be made to use a cake mix instead of cookie mix? thanks

just made the whoopie pies this afternoon. they are yummy. i do like the filling much better than the typical crisco/powdered sugar filling. i will agree that the cream chesse filling would be a good try also! there is just something about pumpkin and cream cheese combo. excellant whoopie pies!
