if they didnt taste much like pumpkin you can add cloves and alittle nutmeg along with the pumkin spice mix or try another ingredient like cherries pie filling. totally omitting the pumpkin.

These cookies turned out great and everyone loved them. I read the reviews before making them and just about doubled everything that it called for on the filling. I also didn't set aside a whole cup for the topping. I probably set aside about 2/3 of a cup.

So I'm not that big a fan of the pumpkin taste, but I would love to try a cookie similar to this... Can any other filling be used instead? Any suggestions on how to try this?

I made these for the first time last night and they were super easy to throw together and SO delicious. I like pumpkin a lot, but pumpkin pie is just too much pumpkin all at once. These are a perfect alternative. They're sweet and have a little bit of crunch and the amount of pumpkin filling in them is spot on. The one note I have is that I just put the other half of the cream cheese into the filling and didn't bother trying to only use 3 ounces of it. I didn't want to have to put an ounce of cream cheese back in the fridge. The filling still came out perfect.

I just made these. After reading the reviews I decided to double the filling mixture and triple the pumpkin pie spice.I also added pumpkin spice and cinnamon to the cookie mixture. They turned out great! Now the problem will be keeping them frozen for Christmas!

I was very happy with these cookies. They were easy to make, tasted delicious, but there was no way I could have made 24. There wasn't enough pumpkin filling. I used a rounded teaspoon just like the recipe said and it only made approx. 18 or so.
