Pumpkin Apple Butter

This is a sweet spicy delightful fruit spread that is great on biscuits, pancakes, or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Makes a good meat glaze. Also makes a wonderful gift.

cups pumpkin puree

large apple, peeled and chopped

cups water

cups white granulated sugar

cup brown sugar

tsp ground cinnamon

tsp ground nutmeg

tsp ground ginger

tsp ground cloves
  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and stir to mix well. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to keep mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Simmer until most all of the water has cooked off and mixture sheets from spoon when tested. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Store in tight sealing containers or can them in jars with tight sealing lids. Must be stored in refrigerator unless properly canned.
