Try strawberry-flavored whipped topping in place of the regular whipped topping.

To keep the salad cold, place the salad bowl in a larger bowl filled with ice.

I made this and added shredded cocanut. Great. I also need help. Does anyone know the reciope for Sunset Salad? I have lost mine. It is a molded salad made with lemon Jello, ground carrots, celery, crushed pineapple and pineapple juice. I know what is in it, I just do not remember the measures. You may e-mail me at noconnell@maine.rr.com thank you. dearcat

I love this recipe! I have made it on several occasions, and each time, there are hardly any leftovers. Combines "comfort food" and refreshing fruit. Will be making this for Easter dinner on request. As another reviewer said, you really can use any fruit you like. Good thing for those picky eaters out there :)
