I forgot to add...I use ground turkey. Also, when the meatballs are ready to go in the oven, I pour tomato sauce over them and I don't use extra water, just the sauce. Makes an easy meal.

Growing up, my mother would make this at least once a month. We all loved it. I make it a lot. I double the recipe, use bread crumbs instead of cereal and instead of 30 small meatballs, i make 8 large meatballs, just like mom.

This was a big hit with my family. It is one of my husband's favorites and he said it was as good as his Mother's recipe if not better. I used one cup of bread crumbs instead of the cereal since we live in Europe and do not have that available. I also used tomato sauce instead of the tomato juice and it came out great. Will definitely make it again.

Everybody loved this meal. I double the recipe and freeze for an easy meal later. I used two cans of tomato sauce and 2 cups of water (makes 4 cps for the doubled recipe) instead of tomato juice.

I made these for a party and everyone raved about them! The only thing that I did differently was to puree some chilis in adobo sauce and add that to the sauce. It added a spicy kick. The left overs were excellent served over mashed potatoes. The next time I make them as appetizers I''m going to make 40/45 meatballs instead of 30 so that they are smaller and more bite-sized.

I''ve been making these meatballs for about 25yrs. The receipe has changed a little over the years . My Grandmother started me off with a sampling of Betty Crocker receipes and this was one of them. These are the only meatballs my kids (when they were small) would eat. Now when the kids come to visit with the grandkids, this is all they want me to make. I serve them over rice with a veggie and a salad. Makes for an easy meal.
