I used Italian chicken. I also used 4oz pizza sauce with the pasta sauce. Used fusilli macaroni instead of pinwheels. I also made Texas toast with a butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic (fresh) and basil mixture. The meal was very simple. A burst of flavor.

Tasted very good! My toppings: pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, bell pepper, kalamata olives, onion flakes, oregano, garlic, parmesan & mozzarella cheese, and I also used 1 full lb of sweet Italian sausage, skin removed, so it was very meaty. And for an authentic taste, I used pizza sauce instead of pasta sauce. Yes, it was basically pizza with no crust. I think I overcooked the pasta because the texture came out too mushy, so I recommend serving on garlic toast for a bit of crispiness.

Didn't realize until I started the meal that you had to cook the pasta and sausage. I'm sure it will be good, but if you want to eat this meal, and are in a hurry, you would probably be better off making pasta and suasage the night before.

I made it pretty much as directed, but used italian seasoned ground turkey (which I added more seasoning to), I didn't cook my pasta first (I think it gets too mushy then), and I doubled the recipe. My super pickey 11 year old LOVED it! next time I'll add some turkey pepperoni, and maybe a green pepper...

This recipe was so good and easy! I did add some onions and instead of canned mushrooms I did fresh. Now my husband said for it to be "real" pizza it needs some pepperoni. So i added some turkey pepperoni. And of course can not have pizza without crushed red pepper ( if you like a little spice). My only thing that I would not add is any extra salt if putting in the pepporoni. But do add oregano and some garlic powder. So yummy!

Great basic recipe that I never considered putting together. Thx to other posters' suggestions, I added sauteed onions and thick cut mushrooms, spicy Italian sausage without the casing, sprinkled in some garlic salt and used zesty tomato sauce. Great result for a super easy dinner, and able to freeze the leftovers for emergency meals.

I made this last week for the first time. Even the 4 snoopy grand kids loved it. I was shocked when they asked for seconds. I was glad to see some of the variations that people tried and liked. This will definitely become a recipe that I make frequently.

This is a very tasty comfort food dish. I added green peppers to make it a little more like how I would order a pizza. Also made it with rotini noodles instead. Super easy to make and had a great flavor. Next time I will add onion and a couple spices (like oregano or garlic powder) before baking it. Made great leftovers!!

Super yummy! We tweaked a little since we have a bunch of grass-fed beef in the house so we used 1 lb. of that spiced with Italian seasoning instead of the 1/2 lb. of turkey sausage. This extended it to definitely 8 services. We used subbed co-jack cheese for the mozzarella since that's what was on hand. We also reconstituted some dried mushrooms instead of using canned since, again, that's what we had in the house. The whole family loved it!

This is a great and easy recipe. I altered it just a little bit. I used Johnson's Italian Sausage bratwurst chopped into slices and substituted the tomato sauce with Prego traditional tomato sauce. It tasted so good my 2 year old son ate his whole bowl, even the sausage! Highly recommend this.
