I haven't made this cake yet, but I have ALWAYS added pure almond extract to my white cakes and buttercream when I have baked. I have always gotten rave reviews about the flavor!

I just left out dealing with making the garnish-- this cake shines on its own. SOOOOO PERFECT! This is one of my all-time favorite cakes to make. It sounds weird.."Almond Cake...hmmmm", but it is seriously amazing! So uniquely flavorful and moist. This is a must try!

I made this cake for a bachelorette party a couple of years ago, and it has been asked for ever since. I have made exactly like the picture. I have changed the colors. I have made cupcakes with the recipe, and now I am going to try it for making petit fours. It is a very versatile recipe. Not to mention, it is one of the best tasting cakes I have ever had.

I made this for a pink-themed bridal shower and it was great. To make it look special I doubled the recipe and baked it in extra-deep round cake pans. When it came time to cut the cake, I cut each piece from one layer instead of both so it would fit on dessert plates. My only problem was that I absolutely could not get the candy coating garnish to work. After the instructions failed me, I got real white chocolate, colored all of it, spread it thin on the back of a cookie sheet, let it cool in the fridge, and used a spatula to scrape it into cigar-like curls. I then pushed the curls into the top of the cake teepee style. It was pretty in the end, but I wish the decoration had worked the first time.

This is the best tasting cake I have ever had! I made this cake for my daughter's third birthday and everyone wanted the recipe. It is really easy to make and quick to assemble. The frosting was easy to make, too. I also made cupcakes with another box of the Super Moist White cake mix. I took the tip and just added a capfull of almond extract to some pink vanilla frosting and frosted the cupcakes. I then garnished them with some of the marbled candy coating mix left over from the cake. The kids were asking for seconds!

This should be called Heavenly Pink Almond Party Cake. I have a group of friends who cook for each other and I brought this cake to them yesterday evening. When we rate a dish a "do over" that means it is so good we have to have it again. This rated "do over" at first bite for each of them. This is definitely a 5-spoon rating!

Sorry to burst the bubbles of the other three reviews... I didn't find this cake all that special. To me, it was just okay.
