Juicy, ripe red tomatoes? Here's a delicious way to enjoy them as well as aromatic fresh basil.

I didn't have any regular bread, but I did have a bunch of whole wheat english muffins. I toasted those up and used them instead. The overall tomatoes were pretty soggy (I don't think I got all the seeds and juices out), but were delicious. Also, I melted some provolone on top, and it totally added to the flavor.

this was a great recipe it got my son and husband to actually eat tomatoes for once.i made this recipe twice the first time microwaving the tomatoe and the second made the filling for the tomatoe and only microwave the filling and then stuff the tomatoes, and i do have to say only microwaving the filling was a lot better it wasnt as mushy and just in general tasted better!

This is very good and would be excellent to do with an egg plant.

It had great flavor until I heated it up. I think that it would be great if eaten cold.

I altered the recipe slightly because of personal likes and dislikes. I left out the garlic salt and added about a quarter cup of finely chopped walla walla sweet onion, and also left out the bread crumbs. It smelled so delicious when I was putting everything together that I age one of the tomatoes before heating and it was wonderful. I did not like it as much when heated. My family agreed as well.

My creation didn''t look like the picture, although, if you closed your eyes it melted in your mouth. The pine nuts were an awesome addition to the tomatoe taste.
