A variation on these cookies is instead of rolling in powdered sugar and the crushed candies is after they are completely cool dip in melted white chocolate and then did in crushed peppermint. These are a huge favorite to all that receive them and I get alot of requests for more.

I love these cookies! It makes the holidays all more special. Just be careful not to use straight off the cookie pan. Use a silapat or the edges get brown and crispy. Nonetheless, they taste wonderful!

i didn't care for these at all. i love the wedding/snowball cookies, but i guess i've never made them, only eaten them. these were way too dry during the cooking process. was trying something different...won't make them again...just my opinion. waste of ingredients for me.

Wow! What a great idea. My kids love peppermint and these will be a hit with them for sure. I like Russian Tea Cakes, but I have a family that do not like nuts. I can't wait for them to taste them!!!! I too am going to make them for a cookie exchange tomorrow! Thanks a bunch!

Great snowball cookie. My husband is allergic to nuts and can't have the original nut snowballs. These were great. I made 2 batches for a cookie exchange. 1st one used butter-2nd one used margarine. Butter cookies were flakier but did not hold the "ball" shape as well as the margarine batch. I will probably use 1/2 butter-1/2 margarine next time I make. They are actually better the second day. Store in an airtight container- they get moister and even mintier! Easy and delicious!

I love these cookies! I had no problems with the cookies being to doughy, in fact that never crossed my mind! You will need to let them sit after taking them out of the oven for about five minutes so that they will not crumble. I worked on other treats while I let them cool. I handed these out in gift bags to my college friends and everyone thought they were amazing, especially compared to dorm food. This is a unique cookie that is relatively easy and inexpensive to make!

I am not sure why some didnt like these. All I can think of they must not have ever had 'snowball/wedding cookies' before. They are dry and crumbly. At least every one I ever had was which is why they are not usually my first choice but someone I know loves them.I would also think by looking at the ingredient list and measurements you could see they would not end up chewy or soft.Must be me.The amount of dry/wet ingredients it seemed obvious to me how they would turn out.

These are a new holiday favorite. I crushed 3 regular (not mini's) candy canes in my grinder - fast, easy and no mess. I had no problem with the dough consistency. Can't wait to make some more.
