Nutty Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon, until well blended. Stir in flour, baking soda and pecans.

    Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake 10 to 14 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

  • Crisp and delicate, these cookies beg for a cup of steaming tea or warm apple cider.
  • Cookie dough can be covered and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. If it's too firm, let it stand at room temperature 30 minutes.
