Add a little life to frozen peas and pearl onions with store-bought Alfredo sauce. It goes from start to finish in 15 minutes.
packages (9 ounces each) frozen sweet peas & pearl onions
jar (2 ounces) diced pimientos, drained
cup Alfredo pasta sauce (from 1-pound jar)
tablespoons shredded fresh Parmesan cheese
Cook peas and onions as directed on package.
Place peas and onions in serving bowl. Stir in pimientos and Alfredo sauce.
Sprinkle with cheese.
If your family doesn't care for onions, use two 9-ounce packages of frozen sweet peas & pearl onions
Both packages of peas and onions can be microwaved at the same time. Simply follow the directions on the packages.
Alfredo sauce is available in shelf-stable jars and in refrigerated containers. Either works in this recipe. If using refrigerated sauce, warm it before adding it to the peas and onions. Stir the remaining sauce into cooked pasta for a quick side dish with another meal.
