This is a good base recipe. I double the whole recipe, then use 1/2 cup of Crisco, and 1/2 cup of real butter. This works out much better.

EXCELLENT! I changed nothing...made them exactly as the recipe stated. Deeeeeeeeeeeelish! I'm not sure what brought about the negative comments about a Crisco taste. I used butter flavored Crisco, and these cookies are divine! My hub said these are his NEW BFF...lol Double the batch... the recipe does not make enough.

Forget the Crisco. It's just there brand and they want you to buy it. I used margarine. They were just fine. Went with 1 1/2 C of flour tho as the peanut butter I have is oily..;).You could add a smidgen of cinnamon to them for a real treat. Or try Almond or Sesame or Nutello cookies!
