This is a great recipe if you have folks in your family that love peanut butter. I just have a couple small changes to it and you'll be making soft cookies that people love to eat. 1. Increase vanilla to 2 tbsp 2. Increase peanut butter by 1/4 cup of extra crunchy peanut butter 3. At the end of the above recipe it says "Sugar" without being very accurate. I recommend using 1 cup of brown sugar. Procedural Changes: mix the dough up well until all the ingredients seem combined, then take your dough and roll it into a long tube (Think: Cookie Loaf) and put it in the refrigerator to harden for a few hours. When you are ready to make your cookies pull the rolled dough out and slice to your desired thickness (I recommend 1/2 to 3/4 inch circles about the size of the cookies pictured. I made these changes to the recipe and they came out delicious and didn't fall apart at all.

I jsut made these cookies last night. While they were very easy to make. The batter didn't really hold well together as i would have liked, it has a kind of crumbly texture. After I baked them, while they tasted nice and full of peanut butter flavor, the consistency tasted more like a biscuit then a cookie. Plus the sugar from the glass on the cookie, made the tops burn faster. Taste is pretty good, but texture wise for a cookie is not so good. Plus mine did NOT look like the picture!

I tried this tonight and it was terrible. There was no flavor to them and they didnt bake up well at all. Wish I had read the reviews before I made them LOL. And yes I used sweetened condensed milk. Plus I had to add some extra milk as it was so dry it would not all mix up. I think maybe it should have been 3 cups bisquick and not 4. Very unhappy, been laid off 8 months and this was a waste of money for me. Threw them all out

The cookies were really dry. They don't flatten at all when they cook, and the bottoms burn. So, I did some experimenting. I flattened them more than a little, started them out the size I wanted them to end up. That worked fine. Then I tried greasing the sheet, and that did make the cooking more even. I also tried cooking them on a baking stone, and that had the best results. No matter what, though, they were super dry and need to be dipped in milk to make them worth while. (and I did use sweetened condensed milk) The dough was great, though. If you're looking to make your own cookie dough ice cream, this would be good stuff to put in it.

My cookies looked great! However, they don't taste good! There is something missing or lacking in this recipe. Very disappointing, Betty Crocker Test Kitchen. :-(

I thought the flavor was just fine. I guess not everyone knows the difference between sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. They are very quick and easy to mix up. I rolled in sugar before pressing with the bottom of a glass for texture. They would be pretty if you dipped half of the cookie in milk chocolate and then drizzled in white chocolate.

I've read the above comments, and just wanted to comment: please note, you have to use SWEETENED CONDENSED milk, NOT evaporated. Maybe this was the problem with the flavour. HTH!

I made these cookies last night - immediately after receiving a Betty Crocker email with a picture of these delicious looking cookies on it. The problem is that they turned out horrible. There is no flavor. It is like eating cooked bisquik with a few chocolate chips baked in. I can't believe anyone would post this recipe. It is disgraceful and made me mad at myself for wasting the time and ingredients needed to bake these batches. I do not recommend any one making this. They are gross cookies with no flavor and a horrible texture. Don't waste your ingredients.

I have to agree with those who've said these cookies are terrible. If I have to modify a recipe to make an edible cookie I'll look for a different recipe.
