Who doesn't love fried chicken? An all-time favorite, this chicken gets extra flavor from ranch dressing mix.

First off, unless the recipe site is run by the Pentagon, I shouldn't need to remember a password to comment on a recipe. Anyway, loved this recipe. I made it a second time and realized I didn't have the dressing mix. Looked through the pantry and found some "garlic and herb" dressing mix, used it and liked the dish even better! Thank you!

I used just one package of salad dressing mix and baked the chicken for 45 minutes which was enough.. I used a meat thermometer. Very moist and tasty.

Tasty, but dry. I instinctively knew that 45 min at 400 was too much, but I saw no reviews to the contrary. I ended up with burnt on the bottom and dry chicken. I would take at least 10 min off the cooking time.

Too salty! We found this virtually inedible because of the saltiness of the dried ranch dressing (I would guess the sodium in the bisquick added salty taste too). Much better to just use the standard flour, egg, bread crumb crust with oven fried chicken.

Make this often with the bisquick but I use the bottled ranch dressing and have started using Italian bread crumbs. Family thought the corn flakes were BLAH...ALso if you spray chix on top with some oil or even a pat of real butter it won't be white on top. excellent and easy!!!!

bisquick can be used in place of the flour and there is gluten free bisquick available, not sure about the ranch dressing though

Don't have buttermilk on hand? Add 2 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice to 1 C regular milk & let stand for 5 mins.

Note to marsh4 & anybody else interested: Buy a container of Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend for cooking and baking located in the baking needs section of your supermarket. It is a lifesaver for any recipe calling for buttermilk. Also the recipe on the container for Buttermilk Pancakes is very good. Bon Appetit!
