Ingredients

1: stick butter

1: small package wings, drum sticks, or any chicken parts you like

1: large egg or more if needed

1/4: cup parmesan cheese

1/2: cup potato buds

: salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt stick of butter in a glass dish large enough to accomodate chicken pieces. While butter is melting, Prepare rest of ingredients.
2 Set up dipping station. Beat egg or eggs in a dish. Pour parmesan cheese & potato buds in the same dish. Salt & pepper chicken. Remove melted butter from oven. Dish will be hot.
3 Dip chicken in egg, then cheese mixture and place in melted butter. Be careful not to splatter butter. Return dish to oven. Turn chicken over after about 20 or 30 minutes.
4 Let cook until chicken is done and crisp enough to your taste. Approximately 1 1/2 hrs.

You can substitue with margarine. Butter adds more flavor. Depending on chicken pieces, use more or less cheese & buds. Cooking times will vary. The ratio of cheese & buds is up to your taste.

I think this recipe would have worked nicely with the original Potato Buds. Unfortunately, when I tried it using the new version that Betty Crocker has come up with, I found the chicken crust had a bad smell and funny taste...not to mention a gummy consistency.
