Getting the family together for breakfast is easy with the taste of orange-toffee pancakes. They’ll love the orange marmalade syrup.
cups Original Bisquick™ mix
tablespoons vegetable oil
cup milk chocolate-covered toffee chips
tablespoon grated orange peel
Orange Marmalade Syrup
cup orange marmalade
tablespoons orange juice
Heat griddle or skillet over medium-high heat or electric griddle to 375°F. Grease griddle with vegetable oil if necessary.
In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk, oil and eggs until blended. Gently stir in toffee chips and orange peel. For each pancake, pour slightly less than 1/4 cup batter onto hot griddle. Cook until edges are dry. Turn; cook until golden.
In 1-quart saucepan, heat syrup ingredients over medium heat about 1 minute, stirring occasionally, until marmalade is melted and mixture is warm. Serve pancakes with syrup.
Eliminate a step by using store-bought syrup. You can find orange marmalade syrups in gourmet food stores.
Dress to impress! Garnish each plate with an orange wedge and mint leaves. You might want to sprinkle pancakes with a handful of toasted pecans, too!
Can’t find milk chocolate-covered toffee chips? Pick up several chocolate-covered toffee candy bars. Freeze the bars (they’ll be easier to break), then gently pound them with a smooth meat mallet or bottom of a small pot to break into chips.
