Tried these on a whim since I had the ingredients around this morning. I had to add a little bit extra orange juice to get the proper consistency for kneading and rolling the dough, which is not uncommon depending on whether the house is dry. Also, I cooked them for just the minimum time. They don't get as brown on the outside as the picture, but they were done throughout and toasty brown on the bottom. I thought they were tasty; however, I might tweak the recipe with some favor additions to the dough the next time, such as a dash or two of sugar (just a little) and maybe a 1/2 tsp or so of vanilla. Perhaps adding some extra orange zest would punch up the flavor (as they smell much more orange than they taste). Then again, since I didn't have organic oranges on hand, maybe my zest just wasn't as zippy as it could be. A nice variation might be to add some plumped (rehydrated) dried cranberries to brighten the flavor and add a sweet yet tangy flavor to them. In which case, I might not add any sugar to the dough.
