Ingredients

1: lb. lean ground beef

2: tablespoons dry onion soup mix (from 1-oz. pkg.)

1: teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1: medium sweet onion, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices

: Oil or nonstick cooking spray

4: (1-oz.) slices mozzarella cheese

4: slices frozen cheese Texas toast

1 Heat grill. In medium bowl, combine ground beef, soup mix and Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
2 Thread onion slices onto two parallel 10 to 12-inch metal skewers. Brush both sides of onion with oil or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
3 When ready to grill, place patties and onion on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 8 to 10 minutes or until beef is thoroughly cooked and onion is crisp-tender, turning once and placing cheese on patties during last 2 minutes of cooking.
4 During last 6 minutes of cooking, place Texas toast on grill; cook 4 to 6 minutes, rearranging twice.
5 To serve, place grilled onion slices on Texas toast. Top each with patty. If desired, garnish with cherry tomatoes.

To broil patties and onion, place on broiler pan; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat using times above as a guide, turning once and placing cheese on patties during last 2 minutes of cooking time. During last 6 minutes of cooking time, place Texas toast on broiler pan to toast, rearranging twice.
